Have a couple little older, little cheaper machines that are still great daily drivers. I use one at work and the kiddo plays portal on the other. Both have SSDs, can ship either one with 6GB of RAM.

Excellent conditioned but has a little nick on the right side
Has a sticky trackpad though, what I mean is sometimes you'll have to press a little harder to get it to click down
