Hello,

What is the most recommended computer case that has a good balance between reducing noise and while still retaining an excellent amount of airflow for OCing? A while back ago I was planning to get the Antec P190 but I'm assuming the latest, biggest, video cards out there now are making the case a bit too cramped in comparison?

Any suggestion or direction to where I can find a place that can help me be informed on cases would be most appreciated!

P190 actually has, miraculously for Antec, enough depth for long graphics cards without shoehorning them in making it only Antec without big internal space problem:

While having same vibration resistant construction and forward noise escape path blocking door as P18x overall design is noisewise in first row but that side panel hole for fan definitely compromises component sound containing ability badly if you keep case on your right side (and higher than on floor, in which situation top leaks noise) because CPU and GPU coolers are directly behind it. Less surprisingly side fan can conflict with big CPU heatsinks and that review mentions graphic card's power cables trying to go into fan because of side pointing connectors.
That pair of PSUs, making case very expensive, has very bad load distribution: Other PSU handles only very low power draw devices like HDDs and opticals.
(I considered case in last spring but discarded it because of those factors and too few 5.25" bays)


From other big tower cases Lian Li A71 has most silencing friendly design with best noise containing potential but because of light weight of aluminum (case weights ~9kg/20lb) it needs at least mass damping for realizing that hidden potential. (Ended to this case. Combination damping mats make big difference to situation @stock and in vibration resistance difference is huge)
While not having fans in everywhere internal airflow is laminar front in-back out without airflow's effectiveness hampering leaks, shortcircuits and complex routes and you can direct internal airflow further with additional PCI cooler and by hanging normal fan to that vertical support pillar to blow toward memory/chipset.


For less noise containing Coolermaster ATCS 840 seems like probably good candidate for high airflow without entirely noise leaking design after mass damping side panels.
(I'm not sure about HDD vibration insulation effectiveness or especially about intake airflow if you have many HDDs in that cage)

a p182 is more than big enough for someone who doesnt know what they're doing

what could you possibly need a p190 for
