Looking for an NAS box.

[Gibbage]

I have a friend who has a wonky home server. All he has is 2 desktop systems accessing a Quickbooks database, so there is no need for a big server. What I would like to do is get him off of his wonky server and into a simple NAS box. The problem is there are so many to choose from! I was hoping to get a reccomendation from you guys.

Here is what I am looking for.
Simple NAS box with minimum of 10/100.
2 drive bays that can mirror for redundency.
SATA would be nice, but not a req.

I dont need anything flashy or expensive. I hope to get an empty box and populate it with small drives since all he needs to do is host a simple database too 2 computers.

Any suggestions?

If you really want a NAS, I like the QNAP TS-109/TS-209 Pro series. Not much they won't do for you.

If you are after the ultimate backup system and file server, I would look at a Windows Home Server system. WHS is damned near fool-proof, and there are commercial systems available from around $600, hardware and software. I believe HP has one for around this price.
