I currently have a 19 inch Viewsonic CRT and I'm thinking of getting an LCD for my dorm room. What the best I can get for around $200 or so? I don't really need the best or the biggest thing on the market, just something reliable that is decent for games and movies and wont take up too much space.
 
Best stick with CRTs for that price. At that range you're looking at really cheapo-ghetto 17" screens or 15" ones, which don't use the modern panels with good contrast and low response time.

A 15" LCD would be limited to 1024x768, also.

On Newegg the one most in your price range was

Which is about the worst specs I've ever seen on a monitor. And it was still a bit over ($219).
 
i agree; i doubt you're going to best a 19" viewsonic with only $200 of LCD
 
I'm not looking for top of the line, I'm just looking to have a decent moniter that doesn't take up a lot of space, I figure LCD's take up a lot less space than CRT's. I'm fine with a 15 or 17 inch. I just want to know what models to look into.
