Howdy all...I am looking for a CHEAP external HD enclosure with NAS capabilities and am not sure where to find a decent one. I would like to put a 750 Gig drive in it so it will have enough storage to back up all our comps but I need it to hang off the network. I have found decent 750 Gig SATA drives for right around $200 and want to keep the enclosure under $60 or so. My other option is if I have to spend a little more on the enclosure I will drop down to a 500 gig drive. I have been looking around but haven't found any decent ones for that price and I just can't see myself spending a ton of money on this. Worst case I can just get a Firewire or USB enclosure and a big drive and put the Mac Mini I was planning on selling up there and hang off that but would rather sell the Mini for some extra cash :)

any suggestions are appreciated

In the 60 dollar (USD) price point, I dont think you'll find anything better than an external drive bay with USB2.0 / FW connectivity. Ethernet ports on a 60 dollar enclosure are rare, though I'm sure you can find one, however for 60 bux, they are not enterprise level hardware, more consumer.

yeah...I am not looking for enterprise...its just for my home systems....I just don't want to have to get externals for each system...looks like I might be able to use my old xp2400 for this as well...just didn't really want to do that though that might work out a little better too for logistics as I just need a case and PSU for that..hhuummmm
