SSIA i guess....

looking for a tablet pc... really want a slate , but from what i've been able to find most of the decent ones seem to be convertables now. The one i'm on the verge of ordering is a Toshiba M200.

What i need:

Centrino (2200 wireless, 735 or 745 proc)
512 mb of ram
20 ~ 40 gb hd
good battery life
good resolution (i'll do 1024x768 if i have to, but i really like the big res on toshiba's model)


what i don't need:

optical drive
floppy

what i would like:
media reader of some sort
good warrenty (pay extra for extended is fine)
0% financing (i can afford it, but i'd like to spread out the payment ove the next few months to make it easier on me)

If this needs to be somewhere else, by all means move it... wasn't sure where Tablet Pc's fit into the greater scheme of things.

the 205 i looked at has an internal sd reader... and iirc the picture of the m200 showed the same thing.

when i say media reader thats what i'm talking about.. i do NOT need a floppy or optical drive.
 
I just picked up the Gateway M275xl. This thing is pretty tight. I payed 2300 for mine but got pretty much everything that i could get with it. I think that the base price is around 1800 but it comes nicely equipped. Just about 1" and about 5lbs. but the 14" display is NICE! Lots of real estate as opposed to a standard tablet; plus it is one of the only tablets out there that comes with an optical drive. A MAJOR selling point for me.... I had to get the DVDRW in mine. decent battery life ~4hrs. under average load (always doing something). You also have the option of the convertible to switch into a laptop, for when writing just isnt fast enough, or when typing is just more convenient. Check it out!
