I know a case like this exists... as I have seen it before...

I have a desktop right now, in an expensive Lian Li case. However, I find myself travelling with my computer a lot more than I did when I originally built my computer. So now I want to put my computer into a new case; it has lots of hard drives and lots of expansion cards.

What I want is a case with a handle on top, and the motherboard mounted on the BOTTOM (rather than on the side). Of course, there should be enough room in the case for the power supply, the hard drives and all the expansion cards. Basically, it's like a barebones kit case, but a lot bigger.

Does anyone know where I could get something like this?

Remember, this is a full sized motherboard, not a micro/mini mobo.

Unfortunately, most such cases are mATX or smaller.

Basically, you want an ATX desktop case that either has handles built in or has a top support strong enough to support the case's weight once handles are added.

Unfortunately, most ATX desktop cases are constructed in such a way that lifting the case via handles attached to the top of the enclosure would likely cause the top sheet to buckle outwards.

Think about what would happen if you turned your typical tower case on its side and then attached handles to the side panel? The side panel simply is not designed to support weight, and therein lies your problem. Essentially you would need a desktop ATX case which has a very substantial support bar running along the top. Such substantial support bars are rather common in rackmount cases, but I highly doubt lifting a steel behemoth on a regular basis would solve your problem.

There are also lighter rackmount cases with handles on the front that might (you would need to check the specific case) be able to support the entire enclosure's weight, but then you might as well get a tower and attach handles to the top (which is frankly the better option in my opinion short of going mATX) as you would still need to rotate the case to lay it flat.
 
Well, it is rather trivial to add handles to that case. (Just be sure to not crack the plexi when drilling, tape the drill points, etc..)

Keep in mind that when you add in the motherboard, power supply, CPU HS, hard drives, and expansion cards, you are talking about considerable weight. That case looks like it is held together by epoxy, and without proper joints for the top panel (slit joints at the very least), I am in no way convinced that it will be able to provide proper support. It may not buckle, but I would not trust the top panel to stay in place.

Ideally, you want the handles to be attached to a thick panel which is bolted or heavily secured to the case's frame.
 
Closest I have seen to what you want is the Cosmo S, it has handles, but it's a tower, the only other thing i can think of is an old Thermaltake design for mATX that had a handle on top.
