Looking for: A router with Speed Control for specific IP and good wireless

basically what the title says, I want to be able to control my renter's speed because they download crap while i play games it lags me. and good range of wireless(up to 4 people) Currently with DI-524 wireless sucks big time i tried changing channels, no good.

Most newer wireless routers should let you set caps per IP address somewhere in the settings.

You could also turn on QoS, that may help as well.

Barring that (as you didn't tell us what router you already had), check http://www.dd-wrt.com and see if your router is supported*.

*not responsible if you screw up your router...read all directions before you flash!
 
Ah, well, that won't help.

My advice, then, would be to do a little searching on the forums, find a good router that has the range you want, then check to make sure that it is compatible with DD-WRT, then install DD-WRT on the new router, and that would solve your major problems.
