I'm looking for a new case guys. Something like an Antec Sonata would be nice, but I'm just looking for other alternatives.

I don't know if a QUIET case exists, but maybe I'd have to add silent case fans, and a silent PS.

I would like it in black or silver, and no UBER LEET designs like Thermaltake wanted.

Also, what other nifty things can I install in the place of a 3.5" external bay? What LCD's come in that size?

Thanks guys.

How are Lian-Li's for sound? Money doesn't bother me really, I just want a nice case that doesn't sound like guitar string.

What's a good PS that's fairly silent and cheap? :)

Zalman sells a quiet case... you might be interested ;)

How much are you willing to shell out :D

am sure you can sound proof any case to reduce the noise.....am not sure how though

I can say my lian-li 6070 is very quiet the 6070A is silver and the 6070B is black the oem case fans are very quiet but for a little more case flow I swapped them out for some panaflo H1A's just as quiet with a bit more cfm....love the case and excellent quality you'd expect from lian-li the pc power & cooling 510 is hardly noticable until it spools up, awefully quiet for all that power ! the system is light years morre quiet than my old pIII system

Thanks guys.

I'll look into the Lian-Li cases then, but just so you know. The case does have alot to do with sound, and it's ability to reduce vibrations caused by the fans and/or drives. I've never bought a really nice case per say, but I have used some really cheap ones, along with some mid-range cases.

Who makes good quality quiet case fans and power supplies?

Agreed,

I have built four computers in these cases that have all been very quiet while retaining good cooling characteristics. As long as you do the right thing by buying good 120mm fans to use you shouldn't have any complaints there. The power supply was actually the loudest thing in the case in the ones I did. But a replacement like you are talking about would alleviate that problem too.

Good luck!

<----- thanks xENo! :D
