I know this may not be the exact forum for this topic but i'm moving into a new house this week, tired of my old particle board desk from Office Depot and i really would like an L shaped desk or even something that fits in a corner with tons of real estate. Preferably a darker wood color but i'm open to anything. My current desk is a plane jane Realspace desk with a cabinet for a mid tower PC and two drawers on the opposite side, its done me justice these last few years. So, i guess i'm asking for any of you guys opinions/comments/pics of some really neat L shaped/Dogleg/Porkchop looking desks. Ive checked out Office Depot, Ikea, and Amazon so far, and sure they have some pretty pics, but they do little or no justice as far as real size and feel of it in a room. Any and all tips would be much appreciated. :D

I'd recommend the Galant line from IKEA. You can pick up a couple of pieces and put together a rather nice setup to fit most spaces. I use a Tempered Glass Z-Line desk right now, but when I get the chance, I plan to set up a nice Galant layout.

To get an idea of the size you can take measurements and fan out sheets of paper to get an idea.

I second this. The Galant series is quite nice for an Ikea solution. Very sturdy, durable finish, and has a ton of options. I have a standard L-shaped one in black/brown finish and I'm very pleased with it.

If you're looking for some "real world" samples, check the newer posts in this thread:

Agreed. That's what I'm using and I've been very pleased with it. Mine is a black / brown setup with T-Legs.

Thanks for the responses guys. I really like the Ikea corner desks everyone has in the Display thread. Really sweet and simple. My only gripe is theres no real storage for things but i guess thats why they made a matching file cabinet :D
