Looking into selling my server and just getting a NAS util. posibly a infrant

or an intel

wondering if anyone has had experiences with these devices. thnx

I've seen the Intel device in person and talked with a rep about it. It's an interesting well made little product. The limit to 4 devices was a bit of a drag to me and I also thought they should let you reconfigure the drives in it. That is, they should sell a $850 model with 500's in it and a $1200 with 750's. It's based on Linux and has a web based gui that you'd use to monitor it from another machine. You could build something more robust for cheaper, but it's a nice little well made box.

You could also assemble your own system and use http://www.freenas.org/

It should do exactly what you want and probably end up cheaper than a bought system.

looked into this a little bit. i just want to eliminate my server in my room (no space etc...)
