Looking for a moderate upgrade from an 8800gts

Looking to get a new card, dont want to spend over 200 bucks, just wondering if theres anything that will give me enough of a performance boost to warrant buying it, game at 1680x1050 but might be getting a new monitor soon too. This is a g92 512mb 880gts btw.

there was another post about this. They were saying the 5770 would be good, but the 5830 would be better and can be had for 200.

I have an XFX HD 4890 with a still-active lifetime warranty for $140 shipped if you're interested. Pretty much goes toe-to-toe with HD 5830, and by extension, GTX 465.

the 5770 or 5830 are your best bets at the $200 and below.....both of which will perform better than the 8800gt you currently have

5830 is your best bet if you can find for under $200. More than sufficient for the resolution you game at. I wouldn't bother spending more than that either since you'll need a cpu upgrade in the near future anyways.

5830 if under 200 bucks
5850 for a few dollars more,since you may go to a bigger monitor.
