So, i just got a HDTV (1080p) and I was going to hook my pc up to the tv to watch HD video. The only downside is that my graphics card died two days ago and I'm stuck with my backup card, which doesn't seem to want to render HD video of any sort.
I have been considering getting a media render/frontend for a while now, but I was never sure of which to get. I've looked into the Apple TV, but that doesn't have 1080p support, so that is out the picture. I've looked into the Popcorn Hour series, which look halfway decent. I was also eyeing the Patriot Box Office too. The only thing is that I'm not sure which one is better, or if there is a better option out there.
I'm looking to be able to play HD video (720p and 1080p) files of various formats (primarily mkv) and it would be amazing if it had good subtitle support.
