Looking for a Low Flow Cpu Block(Socket 754_

The Maze4 is a pretty old waterblock. It probably won't be as effective as newer blocks. I would suggest the Swiftech 6000/6002.
 
DD stuff has traditionally not been the best performing in lower flow setups. The 600x series by Swiftech is the way to go. What pump do you have anyway?
 
The one that comes with the evercool wc-202 kit(I know weak as hell.Like 30 gph LOL!)I dont really have the money to get a pump and a waterblock.I just want a waterblock thats safer than this standard one.Especially since Im going to Q con I dont want any leaks.I just dont feel safe with this block.I also dont have much money to spend.One I get home from quake con I might have some spare change I could use to buy a pump.

Anybody know what size tubing the WC-202 utilizes?
Most of DD's stuff is only available for 3/8" and 1/2". This could be an issue.

How about Koolance or Innovatek, have you looked at those?
 
3/8" OD depending on the wall is probably 1/4"ID.

This is probably going to give you issues going to a DD block or Swiftech block as they are generally installed with 3/8" ID or even 1/2" ID tubing. I would call DD or Swiftech and ask before I bought one.

You might look at some of the smaller diameter designed blocks, Innovatek / Koolance or maybe Zalman.

Should be ... is the key answer. The biggest problem in Watercooling at the moment is that there are so many variables around each component that all "DIY" watercoolers live with some "Should be" in there designs.

If you know the flow info about the pump then you should be able to get an answer from the supplier or manufacturer (hopefully an honest answer) if the Waterblock you are thinking of will work.

I would lean toward the Zalman one based on their reputation but I have no knowledge of it personally to give you a better answer.

Well I dont want to skimp like I did on this evercool kit(well maybe a lil :D ).But I'm going to be working my ass off getting some extra money and build a custom watercooling kit.Could you guys help me please?I was it to start out pretty cheap then eventaully add more quality grade stuff if money permits.
DangerDen seems to be the cheapest place I could find quality parts.

clamps: no, strangely enouhg, those DD clamps suck. You'll have to get some metal worm clamps (screw tight) from an auto/home imrovement store or something.

brass maze4: Offers little more than an increase in price over teh Acetal Maze4 GPU. Get that and save some money.

BIP3: Where are you planning to fit this thing exactly? Get a BIP2 or a Heatercore and save some money. The cooling performance increase from a 120.3 rad won't be necessary.

clearflex: will cloud a lot faster than tygon tubing.

a res outta bottles? If you are gonna be cheap just get a T-line. You don't NEED a res.

And maybe with the savings off of the other parts you can get a TDX block. It will be worth your money. O yeah, and with the TDX you'll be able to get the TDX/D5 (CPU block/pump) combo for $108. That'll be the same as a $50 pump and the $55 TDX, but the D5 will be a LOT more powerful than the CSP Mag. So you get better components for the same amount of money. :D

You have the right idea.
 
I honestly find T-Line much easier to fill and bleed the system... Or in my case anyways =\
 
I would use 7/16" ID instead of 1/2" you will get a better bend than the 1/2" and there is suppossed to be no flow difference between 1/2" and 7/16" .. also when putting 7/16" over 1/2" barbs ... you get a really tight fit.
You can order 7/16" ID from US Plastics or McMaster-Carr ... If you search the Forums you will find links to both items.

Will one Mag be strong enough? If not you can always add a second one.

T-lines are good
 
I would go with the D5 and get a better water block too. The maze4 is ok, but not good enough.

You really can't work on a budget like that and expect good water cooling. Save your money and go with an XP-120 and a silencer instead.

I also don't think you need a BIP360. That's overkill for a low flow system.

I have one more thing to say, and you'd probably appreciate it.

Dump the res, spend the extra money on going from the TDX to the Storm waterblock

Change your setup to a T-line.

:rolleyes: Except his res isn't $50.

He can get the D5 and TDX for $108 (bundle deal). If we say the pump is $75 that's only $33 for the block. The Storm is $75. His res is $18. Doesn't add up huh? If you are willing to spend the extra money though, then the storm will be a very good block for you to use.
 
I have to order this stuff by next Thursday or Wednesday for hopes of it getting here the day before i leave for quake con(aug 10) and have it set up and nicely working(hopefully error free).So hopefully the deal with the D5 is back in stock and I will probably get a res(better looks..building a custom acrylic case for it to fit in).
 
Someone said theytalked to DD and the D5s will be back in stock this week.
