I bought a Turtle beach Santa Cruz soundcard and I have it installed. Everything works well but I am getting a device conflict with the game port. Santa Cruz gameport is conflicting with the standard game port. What exactly is this standard game port?

Also windows keeps installing their drivers for the card when I am installing the maufacturers drivers, is there a way to disable the automatic install of windows drivers. On first bootup after I installed the card, it prompted that it found new hardware, I was gonna cancel the wizard then all of a sudden it started copying the files from windows, that is very frustrating.

Also what are all those legacy audio drivers and such that is in Device manager?

you force feed drivers by locating which driver its tring to load and then cutting it and putting it on your desktop, uninstalling the device again and rebooting, then since it cant find that driver you point it to the one you want

its a good idea to then put the old one back again, so note down where it was.

is this an onboard gameport? that is conflicting?
might be able to disable it under the integrated periphreals in the BIOS
 
Ok thanks, never thought about moving the windows driver. I will put it back when I am done.
I know there is not an onboard gameport on the mother board. Maybe the Manufactures drives installed the same time the stupid windows ones did and it freaked it out. I will look in the bios for a gameport too.
 
Check your BIOS to be sure no game port address there. Some come with a small slot cover attachment and a short cable for the gameport. Just because it isn't in the main I/O area doesn't guarantee that the BIOS knows it isn't there.

yup sometimes its the only way to get the right driver loaded, when it doesnt want to let you point it to the driver you want, at least it will show you the location the driver its going to use, so you let it have its way, then force feed it as above

you can also try uninstalling all the gameports from the device manager
in many cases you get double entries, or if it tries to reinstall those make them disappear too :p
and as Xeese pointed out check the nooks and crannys of the BIOS
