I am trying to keep this simple, and maybe get a few more features in the process.

I really want to give desktop people access to just VIEW switches, not change anything. I have looked at sdig and netdisco and one seems to be more trouble to install and not have the features, and the other just doesn’t have the features.

Does anyone know of a open source tool that does network port mapping (Port to MAC to IP) as well as has other features? i.e. Cacti, Nagios, ETC.. I did not see it in either of the 2 I mentioned.

Any help would be appreciated.

When you say view, do you mean to view SNMP information? If so, MRTG may be your easiest solution.

Not just view the info, but present it in a easy to use interface.

For future reference I found what I was looking for. NEDI does a good job of mapping out the ports ip's and MAC addresses, as well many other things. We are running it on a few of our sites (20-30 switches) and with a few exceptions concerning naming and discovery (which are fixable) it seems to be an excellent tool.
