I'd stick with HP for one reason. Replaceable print heads are your friend. Inkjets are known for clogged nozzels and print head issues. HP's always have a user replaceable print head and or ink cartridge with the print head built in.
There are many HP models to choose from in a wide variety of price ranges. I'd check HP's website.
Cannon, Lexmark, and Epson all offer models with similar specs, the truth is that mechanically they are junk. I've been a printer tech for along time and not having a replaceable print head sucks.
Some Cannon's in the past have had them and so have some Lexmarks. But nothing I've seen recently does.
Epsons don't have a replaceable print head and no Epson I've ever seen does. While they're print quality is just as good and in some cases better, their reliability compared to HP's isn't so good.
Cannon is usually a step or two behind HP and Epson in the print technology arena. I'd avoid them for alot of reasons.
Also under warranty HP is FAR easier to deal with. Be warned however ALL multi-function units are higher maintenece than their standard seperate component counterparts. So much integration done cheaply leaves alot that can go wrong.
