With the recent purchase of a Nikon D50 camera, I've gone on a shooting craze. I'm wanting to pick up an external hdd to hold all the pictures, but want to get one with a card reader so I don't have to go through my pc to transfer the files to the drive. I'm thinking around 250gb, however if something else comes up and the price is right i'll snatch it up.

I've had pretty limited results searching on my own, and from what I've found the card reader portion is not even a searchable option on newegg. If anyone knows of some decent units out there, I'd sure appreciate the help.

PS: price range will probably be less than $200.

Thanks

Do these even exist? I'm starting to second guess myself. I coulda swore I've seen them, but the lack of posts is making me wonder.

yes they exist.

I have personally used this one:

It's easy to use, and at one point ( a few months ago) geeks.com was just selling the shell. I bought the shell and dumped a 60 gig hard drive in it instead.

The one in the link is for a 20gig hd, for a total of 59.95. Good price for having it all put together (not like installing my HD in it was too hard).

Geeks.com is a great company to buy from - cheap, fast, reliable.
