Looking for a gaming display (good HDMI performance)

I'm looking for a decent 1920x1080 gaming display with a $250 budget. I'd like one with good HDMI performance in case I decide to connect a console or Blu-Ray player, but a lot of the displays I've looked at have reported HDMI performance issues.

Any suggestions?

Ooooh, I just though of a potential solution... a HDMI-to-DVI converter. I've seem them for around $10. My only concern is, would I see a loss in video quality due to the conversion?

you could also get an HDMI-DVI adapter instead of a cable.

HDMI carries an audio signal as well as video, so you would lose the audio by going DVI, but the video quality should be the same.
