dell if you don't need the ports...

I went w/ the gateway b/c I hooked up my 360 elite and N64, and the remote control + speakers is what really sold me

...but I sold it and going w/ a 3007 wfp hc to mate w/ my 2001fp's

it depends...ie. i had n loved the dell 2707...but i sold it to my brother..i have to say that after going to a 30 inch w. 2560x1600...it is hard to go back to anything else..

i absolutely love the resolution n dpi.

also for muti tasking whores like myself...you cant go wrong

The ONLY monitor you should be thinking of is the Refurbished 3007WFP-HC from Dell. Only 750$, and there are coupons all the time.. got mine for 680$.

Oh, and at the guy who said that after you go 2560x1600 you can't go back.. I've only had it for 4 days, and already I can say that that is the most correct statement ever.

Sorry to jump in here. But I bought my refurb dell not to long ago. (3007) does anyone know if it does 1:1 ratio for 1080P? Was looking to maybe get a BD Drive for the PC.

The Dell 3007 is the 30" for you. You don't seem to need any inputs other than DVI and the $750 refurb price is a steal. You get Dell's full three-year warranty with refurbs, too. Don't be dissuaded by Dell's reportedly bad customer service. I originally bought a 3008 refurb, but it had lots of bad pixels. After several weeks of trying to find me a replacement refurb 3008, Dell just sent a brand new one. :D

can u use dell coupons for refurbs?

where do you look for discount codes and what time and day should i look for them?

thanks

I *LOVE* my Dell 3007WFP-HC, got it for about $780 incl. the 5-year warranty that I paid the extra bit for after coupon and including tax/shipping... it is an amazing monitor in all regards, the only fault (not an issue to me though) being that it only has 1 dual-link DVI port. Personally I bought it to use as a monitor so that's not an issue ;). It is great for gaming with no noticeable ghosting, has tons of real-estate for desktop work, and the color/resolution qualities of it bring out the detail in everything from games to videos to rendering and web design work. I can't recommend it any more highly if you have the cash to afford one. I've owned mine for two and a half months.

The monitor doesn't do anything, the player software (or graphics card) will do the scaling. Same as playing a normal DVD only more res.
