Looking for 2.0 Speakers

I use a gaming headset, so this is only for the occasional time when I wont be using them.
I have a nice 2.1 system now but tired of my old sub taking up space.

So looking for a cheap (less then $100, $50 preferred).

Any suggestions?

Cheap is bad in speakers, unfortunately. Especially if you're looking for 100 bucks a pair lol.

The cheapest speakers I would recommend are the Pioneer SP-BS22-LR especially if you can find them preowned in a good condition. Andrew Jones (the legendary designer who designed the Pioneers) has now moved to Elac corporation and has released a small cheap speaker called Debut B5. It's in 300 dollar price range a pair and has received good reviews (price considering naturally).

I am in the same exact position. Most of the decent, inexpensive speakers come with a sub (Genius SW-G2.1, Logitech Z323, Cyber Acoustics CA-3602, etc). Let me know if you find something. I'll keep looking...

You can get nice powered monitors for like $200 most times, and they go on sale from time to time down in to the $150 range. $50 though? Nah.

They're not that bad, I've tried those. The thing that turned me off really bad was the Bluetooth (maybe analog, too) sucked on them. It would automatically cut out if it judged the signal was low enough (which is retarded because it literally means you're at the engineers' mercy for what is considered "too low"). The sound was just okay. There wasn't anything that great or that bad about them (buzzing aside; they do buzz; I'm not sure if you want to use those in close quarters if you're sensitive).

Honestly if you actually want a pretty good sounding pair of desktop speakers for <100$, Ebay + T-Amp is a great option. My first speaker setup was a pair of Paradigm Atom V3's + Topping amp. You can substitute in a Lepai; it's much cheaper. Not as good, though. Well more like it has a different sound signature. The Lepai is more bassy and "fun", if that's a valid term.

For speakers, I think any of these should work fine:
paradigm speaker | eBay

Pinnacle AC-500 8 Ohm Bookshelf Speaker Pair - Fully Tested

For amp, grab one of these:

If you need Bluetooth you can add it in later:

Thanks guys, maybe I should just find a pair with a small sub that's not as giant as my current one and figure out a place to put it... Not sure I am willing to spend 150-200 on speakers I wont use very often.

try PSS-60 bluetooth speaker. amazing features built-in microphone and easy connect with calling phone.

the perfect ~ish solution... is to find some Realistic Minimus 7 speakers (not been made for years now) so find them either 2nd hand stores or garage sales...or you can generally find them on the auction site for $50~ish /pr ... however these are passive speakers so you'd need a amp a small T-amp or other class D amp is perfect... I have had for 4~years a SMSL SA-S3 t-amp that cost about $50~ shipped

pictured here w/ similar in sized to the minimus 7's, M&K SX-7 speakers (if you find these go for it... much more rare certainly) the SMSL SA-S3 is sitting under the FiiO E09K

Seems like TC is ignoring any Ebay suggestions. People just don't understand how economically sound (lol pun) Ebay is for budget speaker purchases; maybe they're scared or something. Side note, if you get the chance, I'd recommend trying out a pair of those Pinnacles I listed up there. I got the AC400 from a thrift store for about 20 bucks and frankly it's a purchase I don't regret at all. They're pretty good, especially for the money. Pretty darn small, too.

I mean up to him I suppose in my pick i have a boat load of speakers (no I'm not running them all at the same time) ... I don't know that I have much more than $200 into all of them combined..

Monitor Audio Silver S1's (looked like butt when I got them..worked on them some) $11.25 thrift store find
JBL L1's (estate sale) $40
NHT Super Zero's (bought from another audio forum) $50
Advent mini $10~
Minimus 7's $10 (thrift)
Optimus Pro X44AV's (thrift) $10 (minus 7's basically with different grill and shielded)
M&K SX-7 (thrift) $10

I have probably got another $30~ dollars in surround kits and refinishing on the MA's I guess... Used Speakers have worked out pretty dang well for me certainly...(at some point i need to pair some of this speaker heard down I guess?).
