Hey all,
First post on this forum.
So anyway. looking at building a New pc.
Thermaltake LAnebox lite.
2x HIS 512mb 4850 in crossfire.
DFI mobo (the one with crossfire)
e8400 cpu.
dvd drive.
single 500gb hd.
was wondering will both 4850s fit in the LB. i know i have to take out the 3.25 drive bays
But does the second one Hit the side single 3.25 (external one)
Also how would this system cope heat wise.
i know if i use a aftermarket cpu cooler i loose 2 of the ram slots.
but only gonna have 2x2gb ram so missing 2 would be ok.
But yeh my biggest worry is about heat in the case.
thanks Phil.

1. 2 4850s will fit without removing the hd cage and 3.5 cage
2. temps are fine
3. Depends on the cooler and the board

the lan box is on the bigger side of the sff bracket, maybe you should look into a sg01 or sg02.

Also Has anyone used double slot Graphic cards. Eg; Take two Slots on the back of the case. Cause i know the ice q 4 HIS cards have better cooling but i dont know weather this would be that good as both cards will almost be touching with this model. in a SSF.

Also would you recommend a micro fly over the lanbox lite or Sg01.

Your gonna need to make damn sure those HIS cards are gonna be feed fresh air or its gonna get hot and unstable in there real quick.

The Lanbox Lite will fit any size video card, unless it's longer than the mATX board itself, which is 244mm. And even then, it'd fit with modding. A 4850 should fit no problem.

But yeah, the Lanbox is big. Too big for me - I bought a Shuttle, which I'm later going to mod, and the Lanbox is now in the FS/FT forum.

thats what i was worried about. Non ice q models will have more room between each graphic card. the SG02 f has two fans directly over the top of the GFX cards but im not sure weather this would be enough as i have done no work on micro atx so not sure on heat issues.

I also like the look of the NZXT rogue SSF case. also comes with a carry case :)

Or you can just get an 4870 X2 and have best of both worlds in a single card.

yes i could but bang for buck 2 4850s is one of the better options. over here in aus its about 400 for 2 4850s yet like 650 for a 4870x2

also what are some of the easier Cases to work with. I rarely swap out HDs unless they die or i need something bigger so access after building isnt to big a deal.

SG01/SGO2 series is pretty damn easy. Four screws and the HDD's slide right in/out on a tray. Only issue would be if you had a vid car that blocked the front of the HDD cage, then you'd have to remove it first.

its your call ultimately but I just moved from a LanboxLite to an SG02, the sugo is much nicer case.

I had a 120mm fan left over from my old QPack so I decided to add some extra cooling

If access after building isn't a concern then any SFF case should be ok, EXCEPT The SG01 and SG02 F variants. Read my rant to see what a fucking paint in the ass they are (same internals and chassis, different front).

Lanbox and Q took the DFI a-ok. NZXT is more like a mini-fridge in size.
