I've got the PC version. Every time I go to open a door that is locked, I get stuck in the lockpicking screen. For some reason I can't get out of it, unless I break all my lockpicks or open the door. I can't simply exit the screen, and it is frustrating. I have gone over all the in-game controls, looked in the manual and have found nothing. I've even resorted to hitting every single key on my keyboard, and nothing happens.
 
To get out of the lockpick screen, you don't push a hotkey. Move your mouse downwards until the mouse cursor appears and then click exit.
 
I have a question. If I drop a few items outside of a town, run into town, do my business there, will those items be there when I try to pick them up, or do they 'vanish'? I'm tired of guards stealing my stolen stuff ;)
 
Im not sure. I know in morrowind, I could stash my stuff in a box or barrel somewhere for that same reason and it would still be there, even if I had to go to jail.
 
i have a different question.
can i join more than 1 guild?
id like to be able to have a fence for stolen goods, but id also like to join another guild.

as far as dropping items and them staying there, i dropped some 50 items in the middle of town and theyve stayed there the whole time. maybe because they are worthless and no one wants them.
