Coming from AMD 5900x, 64 gig, x570 mb. What MB should I consider that has some future? I will probably have to buy a lower end CPU to start but would like to be able to upgrade to something seriously faster within a few months. I want to be able to install 2 vid cards for AI and not worried about gaming. I could take the easy way out and go AMD 5 but thought it might be time to explore alternatives. The main down side I see is that AMD has spoiled me as I can expect years of CPU upgrades for any new AMD board and won't be getting the same thing from Intel. No Intel disrespect intended, it is only my ignorance on display.

"...that has some future" is probably the tricky part. Intel has a continuously changing roadmap that not many people can predict.

I like exploring new, but my budget is pointing me at AMD again just for the reuse.
I did the opposite and went to AMD after being an Intel user for about twenty years. AMD has come a long way since I used them last in the early 2000's.

Finally some news on the Bartlett Lake processors including the P-core only models.

"The lineup is expected to include 8-core, 10-core, and 12-core variants under the Core 5, 7, and 9 brands respectively, with TDP options ranging from 45 W to 125 W."

EDIT: They wrote it would be of interest to gamers but I think it would be cool if they had new B760 motherboards with a new BIOS compatible with the CPUs. Maybe call it B760R (R for revision).

I also used AMD in early 00's, K7 with nForce2 chipset running at 2366MHz.
Using Intel ever since but the way things are looking now the next platform will most probably be AMD.
Going in other direction right now at Intel's lowest of lows: does not compute 😵

Interesting tidbit: 13900K also is also 125W part 🤣

12 core P-core only part if it has unlocked multiplier and Intel does not forget to unlock AVX512 might be quite good.
Slower in MT but could potentially be better in games.

Then again do games even use >8 cores anyways?
From what I see there is a lot of E-core usage in some games and games these days run worse with E-cores disabled so who knows... Maybe these games would use 12 P-core design better.

All depends on unlocked multiplier and how OC-able these processors are and even more importantly: price.
Certainly strange move to make processors for older socket.
IMHO ARL should not require new socket. I don't see any improvements from using new socket anyways.
If Intel ported back ARL and somehow fixed cache situation and games ran better than on LGA1851 it would be really funny 🙃

No, unless you count compiling them from source code.

A 12-core P-only processor like that could be interesting to audio folks who hate P-cores and at the same time are afraid of multi-CCD CPUs.

If they release a 12 P core CPU with AVX 512 enabled I would definitely buy it especially if it's a drop in upgrade for my 13900k. Would be pretty solid longevity for LGA 1700 in terms of upgrades
