Evidently Steelseries does not have an official forum so I thought I'd ask here in case anybody has experience disassembling SS Rivals or similar.
The only game I play is an MMO and I desperately want to continue using the 500 since I actually need every button, but its weight is a problem I'm unable to ignore. My other mouse, a Zowie EC1-A, feels light as a feather compared to the 500 and I find myself returning to it despite its lack of buttons.
I don't need or use the tactile alert feature, so I'm curious if removing that motor and associated parts would reduce the weight enough to be worth the time and voided warranty. Does anybody know for sure?
