Long story short I traded my GTX 260 for a pair of 4870s, they were loud as hell so I put aftermarket coolers on each of them. Only after the job was done did I notice my 2nd PCI-E slot was going to be covered by the new cooler and I was going to be forced to use the 1st and 3rd slots. Problem is, I don't have any crossfire bridges that reach.

Where can I buy a bridge that will reach from the 1st to the 3rd slot?

I think Asus sells them, and possibly MSI, someone had luck asking XFX for one through tech support.

Thanks, I had heard people got some from MSI but I checked their site and couldn't find crossfire bridges anywhere. I'll check Asus and XFX.

They are price gouging; those things were $10 back in November. Now they are $25!

Not to high-jack thread, but how hard would it be to implement something that is attached inside the motherboard internally for the companies to make? This way we won't have to deal with all the SLi/Crossfire connectors.

Yeah, my MSI R5770 HAWKs each came with a long connector that reaches between the first and third 16x/8x slots with three slots in between. Unfortunately, I'm using one and I gave the other to a friend since his was too short (funny).

Yeah I ponied up and bought the Asus ones on ebay last year. Damn gougers. Nice to have some space between GPUs though.

Contacted XFX, unfortunately they're out of stock and have no ETA on when they will be getting more. I bit the bullet and spent the $15 on one from ebay from a local guy because I didn't feel like waiting forever to get things up and running.
