It's all marketing and ploys. Eventually if people want it, AMD will be used in the server market. Itanium just doesn't touch opteron for price/performance. AMD is slowly but surely gaining market which fropm my perspective as a neutral guy (i got both Intel and AMD check my sig) gives us the end users better products at better prices...

How could Itanium touch ANYTHING with it's current price? No main stream chipsets, $1,500 a CPU, requires Phase Change (last I looked). That's just insane.
