i was thinking about getting the z 530s because of there cheap price for a 5.1 system, is there any reason for a price this low or should i go with the z 5300e? for $120

If you want more power to your system go with the E. Im not aware of any stunning quality difference however.

beware of the old models of the z5300e. i had to go through *2* brand NEW sets of z5300e before i got one that lasted for more than a month. apparantly there is a defect with the old model's sub causing distortion when turning the volume knob. all problems are related to the front left speaker.

typical logitech.

I just set up mine last night, haven't had a chance to fully test them but the sound so far is very nice and I have an onboard ALC850 (Realtek). Got a really good deal at Amazon too
Nice Deal
