hi everyone, i just bought the x230 Logitech 2.1 speaker set and i had a quick question. the speakers alone when hooked up to a computer work perfectly fine, but my set up is like this since my monitor also has nice speakers. i hook my xbox 360 to my monitor through VGA and connect sound using the 3.5mm female to female audio coupler into the headset jack of the x230, then the x230 3.5mm into the monitor.

what i cant seem to figure out is that when i plug the audio coupler of my xbox into my x230 headset jack all the way in, i only get sound out of my monitor speakers, not all 4, then when i plug it in loosely i get sound out of the monitor speaker set and 1 speaker from the logitech 2.1 set so in total 3/4 speakers have sound.

so i guess my question is, im i doing something wrong with the set up? or could it be my speakers, or possibly just be the audio coupler?

The Logitech speakers are not designed to do what your are trying to do. When you plug something into the headphone jack on the Logitech speakers, it disables the speakers so that when you plug in headphones, you don't get sound out of the speakers as well.

If you want to run your Xbox through both sets of speakers, you will need to use the coupler to plug the Xbox directly into the "Line In" jack on your PC. You can then plug your Logitech speakers into the main output (usually a green jack) and your monitor speakers into the "Line Out". You will need to play with your computer's soundcard or onboard sound settings a bit to configure it to play on both outputs.
