Having this really strange issue, and frankly it's a big pain in my ass. I think I am running the Logitech Cordless Duo here at work. And basically what ends up happening [quite often might I add, about 50 times a day] is that occasionally when I scroll the mouse wheel, it ends up going back on my web browser. Are there any known issues about this? Is there something I can take apart inside of there so the mouse wheel works as it should, but it won't go back? I dont' even know how it sends the signal to go back, there are no other keys on the mouse!

Just a guess, but your 3rd button (pushing the wheel in) is set to back. You might be pushing too hard on your wheel, hitting the button, which would explain the 'every now and then' aspect. Check you settings in the control panel, I'd bet one of your buttons is back.

Nope, middle mouse is set to that other scroll option. And I'm certain that I'm not pressing down on it, it usually happens if I try to scroll a bit faster.

I went from having no drivers, to upgrading to the most recent Logitech drivers.

I have never been a fan of the logitech drivers, many people who have them never install the drivers for that reason...

Was it working ok before you installed the Logitech stuff?

Neg, it was the same issue before I installed any logitech drivers.

i just noticed this week (at school, ironically), that if you hold down the shift button scrolling while hovering over a link will either open that link or go back in the history... might be worth taking a look at :p

I have an IBM scrollpoint pro mouse. It has a back button on the side, thumb area. I absolutely love it. It's fan-fricking-tastic.

As for getting rid of it on your logitech, open up the mouse, find the microswitch that throws when you push down the mouse button. Very very casefully, cut one of the two traces coming from that switch. The switch will never work again, so be sure about it the first time.

Are you referring to a mouse that has a back button? Because mine doesn't have that, it has the left click, right click, and middle mouse wheel... no back button.

And I never scroll using the shift key, I've learned that a long time ago. :)
