On one comp, I have the Logitech Elite keyboard with the MX1000 mouse.

The other comp is equipped with the Logitech G15 keyboard and the G5 mouse.

The G5 and the G15 are an excellent combination. I run the G15 and G7 myself. I do have a G5 on my server box though.

It's a little pricy for a gen purpose mouse, but the G5 is an excellent chorded mouse for just about anything, imo

in other news... razer picking up steam in the polls. :)
 
Just switched about a month ago from a Microsoft Intellimouse Wireless 2.0 -> Logitech g5... I'm one happy camper
 
I used to use the MS explorer when it first came out. Just recently bought the MX1000 before I came to iraq but its a bit on the heavy side for me. I bought the G5 just recently for when I build my new computer. I love the Laser.
 
logitech all the way.

mx500 - mx1000 -> now im using G5 for about 2 months or so. its awesome.
 
I like my Razer b/c it's nice and slim. The Logi mouse is a bit fat for my hands.
 
The copperhead.

peerless, every logitech i've used seems like a dead lump of misshapen plastic in comparision.
 
razer diamondback plasma here. just got it. While every aspect takes some getting used to, I like the shape over the MX mice, i think it looks way better and feels lighter.

G5 and it rocks. The only complaint I have about it is that there is only 1 thumb button. I would have liked 2, but otherwise the mouse is just about perfect.
 
MX1000, feels comfortable and I'm not too sure about the other brands of mice atm, but I hate replacing batteries... I like the MX1000's recharchable battery.

i was quite disappointed with the razer viper.

got it a couple weeks the day it came out and while it had good tracking there were issues with it. for one the teflon mouse feet supplied was super smooth for the first couple weeks. after the break in time it gave a noticable drag like resistance the feel which was just off. the other problem was it didnt work good with lower settings. when i would try to do 160degree turns in an fps games it wouldnt track where i would want it. it would sort of stop a third of the way through. it was quite annoying.

the mouses ergonomics overall isnt for my taste (i have medium sized hands). its too thin for my liking. it had a tendacy to turn over or tip easily from either side with just three teflon feet. the buttons just didnt feel right for me either. the wheel mouse itself would tend to double roll on weapon switches (even when you do one roll clicks) not to mention its too stiff for web surfer for too long.

i basically stop using it within a few weeks and went back to my mx300. im sure even with all these flaws imo if i had given the time to force myself to use it i could have been good with it and tried putting different teflon feet with four instead of the stock three. im just too old for that and refuse to conform to something designed so horrible.

if youre the type that has a very low acceptance to conformity and your roots base off logitech/microsoft mice i would recommend staying away from the razer brand completely until they change the ergonomics anyway. it really does have a high learning curve not as bad as the razer boomslang but close enough.

still awaiting for my mx518 and func f30. if not oh well it'll probably collect dust with my viper and a bunch of other mice and mousepads.

on a side note i diy my own mouse feet. i just bought a 12x12inch sheet of teflon and cut it out and i'm telling you they feel better than what razer supplies you with.

*it looks like they did a complete overhaul of the razor mice. the diamondback and copperhead look a lot better from the previous viper. still after the viper i dont think i'll come back to razer anytime soon. i guess we'll have to see in the future.
 
I've never tried a logitech gaming mouse before, but I can definitely say that the Razer Diamondback is the business when it comes to gaming. I'm also using the double sided Razer eXactMat mouse pad, and it's like gliding the mouse over ice. Feels so nice with shooters.
 
I like the feel of the Intellimouse and the non-ratcheting wheel.
 
Heh, tell me about it, I've gone through three. There was apparently some sort of production problem with the sheathing on the wires that allows them them to break from stress at the first bend inside the mouse.

MS had a pretty liberal replacement policy, though. Call them for an RMA number, e-mail in a picture of the mouse's serial number and they'll put a new one in the mail.

I love the ratcheting wheel. I used to be quite the fan of the Intellimouse 3.0A (hated the wheel, though) and only gave it up for the MX510, which was subsequently given up for the 518. I honestly have to say, the 518 is the best mouse I have ever used. It was a great shape for my hand, gaming or doing desktop work, and it had a perfect weight about it. It's been replaced for a Copperhead now, though, which is the first Razer that I've stuck with. Tracking issues and all that from the Boomslang onwards. That, and the G5 just doesn't cut it with a single side button!! Come on Logi, what were you thinking?! We're gamers, not Mac users!!
That said, I voted Logitech, because the only reason I use the Copperhead over the 518 is the increased sensitivity. It's totally required when playing in 1920x1080.

Only thing I don't like about my MX1000 is the scrolling wheel. It's not quite as smooth as I'd like. And the weight might take some some time to get used to. Other than that, it's an awesome mouse.
 
just got my mx518 in yesterday (newegg took 5days to ship it to me). i must say after changing the pollrate to 500hz and using my new func f30 on it wow. no skips ever no matter how fast i move the mouse. it tracks perfectly.

you really cant beat the price/performance for this mouse its the best gaming mouse period. ergonomics is top notch. i may open it up later and perhaps play with the sensitivity of the wheel its a bit too stiff for my browsing pleasure.

no drivers for me thanks. interesting to see how well this mousepad fairs in the long run. i tried it with my func 1030 and there's really no comparison atm. there's a lot more friction with the 1030 the f30 (11x14 perfect) has a lot more texture which provides a better feel and smoothness for me. great combo.
 
MX700 still doing the trick for me.... actually got a G7 for X-mas, but it was very uncomfortable compared to the MX700. I took the G7 back and got the Logitech Harmony X360 remote, definitely a good trade out!
 
Microsoft Trackball Explorer... I can't remember the last time I had a mouse on any of my computers
 
Logitech. I bought a copperhead and it is now sitting on the shelf right next to me collecting dust. The razer feels cheap, and it's just the right size for a 3 year old. The side buttons are awkward and the top buttons click when they feel like it. The rail sticks out and makes the grip extremely uncomfortable. I have big hands and had to learn to be a contortionist. Do yourself a favor and buy a g7/g5. Best mouse I've EVER owned. <3
