Logitech MX518 Mouse & Setpoint software

Hi,

While installing a new MX518 mouse I noticed that out of the box 3 levels of tracking sensitivity points can be set without installing the Setpoint software. The + and - buttons do work for 3 settings.

OK MX518 users, is there any need to install the logitech Setpoint software to get the most out of this mouse?

If you installed Setpoint do you use it?

There is also a new version out 3.1 Sept 06.

i have a G7, and there is software for my mouse as well. To be honest, none of my friends nor I actually use this. All we have found it useful for is cluttering our taskbar, like the person above me has already stated.
 
i have the same mouse and tried the software
like everyone else here, i dont like the software and i uninstalled it
the software is only good if you want to rebind the buttons and have that other small button on the top of the mouse work
i think its default use with the software is an alt+tab function, i dont like it
