I have been wanting a new FPS gaming mouse and I was down too the MX510 and the Razer Viper. I have decided to go ahead and get the MX510. Most people say that this is the best mouse but I shouldn't install the drivers. I just wanted to know why and if I don't install the drivers will I still get the same DPI and 5.8 Sensor rate? and what about the buttons? will I be able to assign them to certain commands?

I want to know as well... I always hear about issues with drivers but need to know if I use default windows drivers if I will get the full DPI

I installed the drivers for mine. I can't see anything wrong with them. The mouse works fine with any game that i play.

I see..... I guess people have mixed results. I'll just have to install them and see for myself I guess. But my question still remains, if I don't install them do I still get the full effect of the DPI and sensor rate?
