Logitech MX or Microsoft Elite?

Hey all, I'm debating against the Logitech MX Duo Wireless combo ($99 Cdn) vs. the Microsoft Wireless Optical Elite combo. ($120 Cdn)

Does the fact that MS removed the feedback in the scroll on the mouse suck when you're scrolling for weapons in a FPS for example? Does the soft pad on the Elite justify the higher price?

As far as the Logitech goes, does the rechargeable thing suck, or is this a handy feature (I've never had good experiences with anything rechargeable).

Are both mouses equally as comfortable?

I know lots of questions here, hopefully some of you have experience with them both... :)

I have the mouse that comes with the MS kit. The no feedback in the scrolling sucks for games. You kinda get used to it, but it's still a pain most of the time. I also noticed a bit of a wakeup lag if you don't move for more than a few seconds. It doesn't take but a slight move to wake it up, but it's there. There's no lag in movement though, and I can't get it to screw up no matter how fast i move it around.

It is pretty comfy.

I'm seriously condering taking it back though and getting a MX duo (I need a wireless keyboard too) and everyone seems to love the MX 700s. I have a logitech MX trackball and love it. It's wireless and there's no lag with it at all. Used it for a while now. The software is a little iffy, but meh, dealable.

I have been very happy with the Logitech MX Duo, it does not seem to have the lag of the MS Elite, in my opinion.

But I have read other threads of people who love the MS Elite.

I really like my MX Duo. The rechargeable thing is really slick, I've had no problems with it. I'm lovin' the wirelessness.

Well, I think I'll try the Logitech love. :)

make sure you find a store that has both of them and try them out. I love my logitech keyboard but I don't like the logitech mice. They just don't seem to fit my hands right. I used my friends mx700 duo and it was pretty nice. no noticable lag at all.

I have the MX Duo but they're both on wires. (never was a fan of wireless) But I have has expeirence with the rechargeable things, they work great. Takes about 5-10 minutes to charge and they last for a long time. I personnaly would get the wired ones but you would use less USB ports with the MX Duo wireless. The hot keys on the Elite black keyboard are great and everything is completely customizeable.

If you do get the MX Duo, after you install the drivers that Logitech gives you, head straight to www.logitech.com and update them. There is a bug in the keyboard driver that makes your system shut down unbearably slow. If your into gaming, the mouse does put a little lag into your game due to another bug that was fixed in the new drivers.

As for my Microsoft standpoint, it's a great mouse no doubt about that. Never had a problem with it except I had an optical mouse and did some hard gaming with it on UT2k3. After about two months, it died. I have no idea why, it's not the wire or anything so something must of happened within the mouse. I have had the MX500 for 3 or 4 months now and have had no problems except for the driver problem.
The Keyboard seems like a regular keyboard to me, none of the buttons prooved useful to me but with the Elite black keyboard, I use every single one. The F-Lock is cool because they made the F-Key have alternate things to do. (Ex. Email, Word stuff, and basic system stuff)

All-in-all, go for the MX duo! :D

update: i took back that MS wireless mouse today and got the MX duo, like it alot so far, especially the keyboard is ALOT quieter than my MS one (which is now on another computer)

I doubt anyone else has said this...so...Logitech MX Duo.

(ok, so I knew damned good & well other people said it.)

I love my mxduo. I've been using th windows default drivers. Is there any reason to install the logitech ones.
