Logitech G502 currently $59.00 @ Amazon

I have the G502 I bought it because it came with a $50 steam card on black Friday. I use it but I would warn people to watch out. First it had some serious bugs that needed a firmware upgrade. Second the right click is just a lot smaller and easier to miss. While sense up and down are too big and easy to hit on a very small left click button. Overall I don't think this is a well designed mouse.

I'll buy a new mouse when you pry my mx518 out of my cold dead hands.

I havent had any of those issues

Been a great experience for me, best mouse ive ever owned. I'll buy a second one when this one breaks.

No the g502 is better.. Just cause its wired../thread

Anyways.. the g502 price is awesome.

There is no perceptible lag, and the connection it rock stable. So, wireless is much more convenient, no cord to fight or drag around.

Indeed, I got the G602 a month ago or so and I'll never go back to a wired mouse again. This is the best mouse since the old MX1000. Wireless lag is pretty much a thing of the past and a term thrown around by sore losers or fuddy duddies who refuse to give up their wired rodentia.

It's a thing of beauty...

The 502 is getting beat up here..

I love it! Bought mine about 2 weeks ago and it's great. 4 buttons by the thumb that can be customized. Hell all the buttons can. I like how it has a profile button under the wheel and you can change the layout as needed.

Also like the higher wheel on it so it's easier to push side to side so you can use those extra buttons as well. Has good traction response as well. Extra weights thst I like and use.

The lighting on it is also cool.. but sucks it's blue only. Matches my logitech G910 Keyboard..

I love mine too. I will be using it until there is a suitable G700 replacement. The G602 is not the replacement for the G700s. It is a notch below it.

Everyone has a different experience based on usage and body shape, mousing preference. but you cannot deny that the G502 has some of the smallest physical area right and left click buttons of any high end gaming mouse. On top of that you also cannot deny it has some of the largest sensitivity up and down buttons of any high end gaming mouse.

Part of this may have to do with the fact that I have trained myself to 3 finger the top of mice. This way I have independent control of the mouse wheel with my middle finger and am never in a situation where I cannot afford to control the mouse wheel but personally I think that everyone should train themselves to do this else you are just wasting a good finger.

I'm old... I've used computers since before they had mice, so the idea of a cord attached to my mouse is not foreign or new to me, and after decades I don't even notice them any more - it's not something that ever even affects me, the cord is a non-issue. OTOH I hate that wireless mice always seem to die at the worst times, something that can be mitigated by careful charging or having a stock of AA's on hand at all times, but something I always found to be a pain in the ass.

Dozens of buttons and wireless might be fine if you're playing MMO's, but for fast twitchy FPS type gaming I found the size and weight of the g700 and g602 just too much for my taste. The 602 with both batteries comes in well over 150 grams... and wireless lag, however imperceptible, DOES exist and will never be superior to a wired connection in function, only in convenience or asthetics (that may be very opinionated, but hey - I'm old! And get off my lawn!!). Does it matter to the casual gamer? Probably not, but given that mouse cords don't bother me in the first place, the choice between wired or wireless is an easy one.

Also worth mentioning the g502 has an excellent sensor, one of the most precise I've tried, no angle snapping, no prediction, no acceleration. I dont really like the looks, and the glowing blue logo I could take or leave (fortunately it isnt ridiculously bright). I find the buttons to be VERY sensitive, which is good for fast shooting/clicking but is taking some getting used to (accidental RMB clicks are happening ALOT). I still find it to be a little on the heavy side, even with no weights added. In spite of that I still feel it is one of the best mice I've ever used.

But this isnt supposed to be a review, or wired vs wireless mouse debate - things better left discussed in the mouse/keyboards section of the forums. It all boils down to one's preferences and needs...

This is a post on what I thought was a good price on the g502, something I've had my eye on since it was released and was waiting to go on sale... Maybe it helps others who've been waiting to grab one

Logitech replaced my g500 with a g502. I like it except for the fact that I had to use their software to disable the on the fly sensitivity buttons because I kept hitting them while gaming which would get me killed.

You know whats funny, on my laptop I have a wireless G700S, and because of the reasons you mentioned I leave it plugged in 90% of the time. I only unplug it for short presentations, or when its on my lap.

Exactly the complaint I was making, I had to move the sensitivity adjustment down to the button in front of my thumb whatever that is called.

I like the mouse but have found that game profiles don't actually work. At least for the new Wolfenstein.

The G9X was the last great Logitech mouse. 502? Main buttons are too narrow and the click wheel isn't great. 602? A chunk of slippery mess.

Still kicking myself for not picking up a couple of G9X's when there were $40 COD versions. Oh well - maybe they will come up with something good between now and when my G9X breaks...

I've been reading the same all over the net which is the reason why I havn't picked one up.
Happy with my X3 Rivals

While the buttons are narrow, the sensor in the G502 and G303 are the best on the market currently, the PMW3366DM. The metal click wheel has tilt/freescrolling, and is almost as nice as the one on my RAT7.

The 602's have the same run-of-the-mill Avago AM010 sensor found in the 20 dollar G100s.

I have to remember this over and over while I read these comments and want to scream things like, "Do you have Shrek fingers or are you just unable to control the movement of your own hands?!". This is why we have such a great mouse environment. I would hate to think that there isn't one mouse out there that couldn't satisfy someone's needs no matter how obscure. So this is very to each their own for use and comfort.

But my two cents are that I have owned the G502 since launch and have bought a second for backup. Just like the G9x people who wished they had bought a couple extras, I won't fall victim to this!

Not to mention, the DPI up/down buttons can easily be rebound to mouse1 for added ham-finger support.

Just got the G602 at BestBuy, thanks. Feels a lot better than my 9 year old MX518 and is a little bigger than it as well. Just have to get used to all the buttons.

I have seriously large hands and I like the 502.. :) and no I don't hold my mouse with 3 fingers across the top. Obviously this mouse would not be wide enough for those that do.

Great price! Been thinking of one myself...

Hey, those with G502's - just to confirm, it has not only a dual-mode scroll wheel, but the wheel rocks/clicks left and right, which count as individual extra buttons - correct? I've heard conflicting reports on this.

Yes, and the tilt-click functions can be mapped to any other button or macro, too.

I've got mine set to switch tracks for media players, with the below-wheel button for play/pause.

Yes, and this is the main reason why the G602 isn't as good as the 502 or a suitable replacement for the G700/s. The G502 also goes back to an optical sensor which many gamers preferred over the rash of laser mice that became popular over the years.

In terms of in the hand feel, I think its definitely more comfortable than the G700 and feels as close to the G9 as any Logitech mouse since that wonderful mouse. I'd disagree with anyone that says the G9 was better simply for the fact the G9's fake thumb buttons felt awful and were barely usable.

All the keys on the G502 feel fantastic, especially the left and right click buttons which have a lot of travel and are really loud compared to other mice.

I don't mind the tether anymore, even with my G700/s I used to use them in tethered mode to avoid the oddball latency and tracking issues with them. Just get a good mouse bungie and you never notice the wire anyways.

Anyways, Logitech sends out mailers every so often, could get this awhile ago for $56 or so shipped after 30% coupon.

But I'd agree with some of the others here, best Logitech mouse I've ever used and I've owned pretty much all of them since the MX700.

So, after using Razer mice for years, I bought this as a backup and travel mouse. I have to say, its a great mouse. The learning curve is great though. My hand is in a different position than with the Deathadder. I keep hitting buttons by mistake lol. It does glide smooth and overall, after I get used to it, Im sure is gonna be awesome.

This is the best mouse I've ever used and I buy a new mouse ever few months because I get bored with them. I bought my 502 back last summer and have yet to swap it out for anything. It's 2nd to my DeathAdder in terms of comfort but the sensor is perfect and literally surgical. I love the sniper button and the two buttons just to the left of the left click button. I use those for Page Up and Page Down. Build quality is excellent as well as the software. I'd make it slightly wider tho and it would be perfect.

I've tried the 502 and really want to like it, but I like the 2 additional index buttons placement better on the 402 and it is just too narrow for my big hands. :(

This thing would be good for MMOS more then anything I tried using my 5 button Rival for RIFT
and well I had to omit some spell on my Pally.
I haven played Rift in Months I'm level 61 now new skill tree rocks the Nightmare Tide areas are so weird.

Just to be clear since I'm not sure if the comments were pointed at me or not, I'm not nor wasn't dissing the G502 in any way. I just said that I really love my G602 and think it's one of the best mice made in recent history, especially wireless. The G502 is a great piece of hardware in it's own right and has it's own noteworthy features.

But if you're not absolutely determined not to use a wireless mouse you'd owe it to yourself to check into the G602 when it's available at a similar price point - maybe try both mice and make your own decision. Either one is great! :)

I love mine too. I will be using it until there is a suitable G700 replacement. The G602 is not the replacement for the G700s. It is a notch below it.

I had a G700 for three years, after which I switched to the G602 because the G700 started to have serious tracking problems. I feel the G602 is definitely an upgrade. The ONLY advantage the G700 has over the G602 is the higher available sensitivity, but in practice it has not hampered any gaming sessions for me whatsoever. The battery life on the G700 is it's biggest problem; essentially you have to keep it wired if you don't want to be exchanging the battery every two days. 4 months in, I'm still showing full bars of batter life on the original batteries on the G602. That is just mindblowing to me. Also, the 6 thumb buttons vs the G700's four buttons automatically makes my gaming better. All IMO, of course, but having owned both of these mice, I feel I'm qualified to say the G602 is definitely better. Best mouse I've ever had, in fact (I've had a lot over the past 20 years).

This deal is still on, both at Amazon and Newegg.

are you talking about a different mouse? I'm looking at mine right now and the right click is exactly the same size as the left....

Steelseries RIval ftw even though Maximum PC gave it a 6 out of 10...the way it clicks is worth it.
Maximum PC gave the Logitech Proetus the top mouse award.....I think on the extra button weight system alone.

I got a G700s from Amazon for $50 a few weeks ago.. So far it's a pretty good mouse..

Just got a 502 from the egg. I like it but for one issue. The tip of my right thumb keeps hitting a button , which I think refreshes the polling rate. Otherwise this mouse feels very sharp and fast.
