Logitech G500?

So does the G500 have the same body as the MX518? I need a new mouse to replace my 518 but I want something that feels almost the same in terms of size.

It has a very similar shape, but slightly more cut out on the left side.

One thing I really did not like about the mouse was the positioning of the laser sensor on the underbelly. It's only about 1 inch back from the front end of the mouse and I noticed frequently that it added some odd inconsistencies to the motion since the entire rigid body of the mouse doesn't move in precisely the same fashion.
