Logitech Cordless MX Duo

Has anyone had their cradle die yet? Mine and my friend's died, and now we can't charge our mice anymore? Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, is there a fix?

I've seen other people on the forums say that, but it seemed like a call to Logitech had a replacement on the way.

i have three and they all seem to be working fine, i hope they dont die....

clean off the metal in both to make sure the connection is good, i've not had the problem, it could be the batteries too

Well, my cradle just pisses me off so i don't use it anymore. Even with 5 minutes of trying to get the mouse to charge, it's almost impossible to to get it charging. Even when it does start to charge, it stops blinking after 1/2 hour becuase it reckons that the batteries are fully charged. Not to my suprise, the red light starts blinking in 5 minutes.

Here my alternative: I buy a pack of rechargable batteries with a charger. When ever the red light blinks, i swap it for another pair, while the pair that has run out will be charged. Kinda defeats the purpose of the cradle but i can't be bothered to send it back to logitech

I Did the same thing plus I already had a NIMH charger I bought for my digital camera

Plus, ive managed to buy some GP 2300 mAh batteries and they last for around 4 days before a recharge

Well I've had my first MX700 for a year now, and it's still going strong. I bet if you call Logitech and ask, they just might send you a new cradle. Their support (except for not wanting people to use KVMs ) is pretty good.

BTW have you tried cleaning the contacts on mouse and cradle with a pencil eraser? Worked for me. I bought some 2000 mAh Lenmar batteries for both of my MX700s and both charge up fully. I know Logitech says only use 1700 mAh, but I say live a little.

omg what a pain in the ass. You need to get a replacement, because if I leave my mouse in the cradle overnight, it will last 2 full days of hardcore gaming before it starts blinking...

I have 4 Logitech Cordelss MX Duo and 2 MX700's. On one of my MX700's the USB plug's endpiece has a wire that the solder separated from the connector. They sent me a replacement and told me to keep the old one. So I cut a new USB cable, splice and solder and now I have 2 MX700's.....

It's not actually that much of a pain in the ass. Whenever the red light blinks, I can change it to the second pair of batteries which means that I don't have to worry about the batteries dying when im playing a game

sorry to hijack the thread, but is this mouse good for gaming? i mean like gaming as in ut2k4 and other first person shooters that require good mouse speed and no mouse delay? this will probably be my first purchase, and i want something wireless, but i heard this mouse/keyboard combo isn't good for fps's. if it isn't could anyone please suggest a better combo, it doesn't necessarily have to be wireless. k thanks.

I have the latest Microsoft wireless mouse, and I use it everyday, all day at work. I put two new AA batteries in it 2 months ago, and it's still showing the battery strength as "good". I know everyone likes to bash Microsoft, but I'll take a few months over several days anytime.

It fits my hand like it was made personally for me. I lay my hand on it and don't even have to look at it, my hand just falls naturally into place. It has multiple buttons (7 + a scroll wheel) you can program any way you want. It cordless and that's a lot, no friggling cord. It's accurate, and finally when you're through for the day, you just drop it into the charger, and with NimH batteries there's no memory like with Nicads. But hey whatever floats your boat.

I just wish i could get my boss to spring for an MX Duo. My work MS corded optical is a POS compared to my MXs. And I'm not bashing MS, the previous Logitech Cordless Elite systems were pretty crappy.. I'll never own another corded mouse EVER, that's how bad this one has spoiled me.
