Logitec MX1000

i am curious about two things how long will it be till the duo is out. And is that "Built in" Lith-ion battery removeable and repalceable at a radioshack.
If not is it going to be like an ipod and the battery is going to be impossible to find cept on certian web sites and you have to dissassemble the mouse and solder the new battery in the place of the old.

My stance on the batterys is if it isnt normal batterys you can get at a store then i will try to avoid it. I like the fact that my mx700 uses AA batteries that way if my rechargeables go dead on me i can either swap them for 2 other rechargeables or normal batteries.

I'll go to the store and try it once they are available.

My main thing against wireless mice isn't that they are less accurate or whatever, just that the batteries, etc make it heavier. Some people like that, but for me more mass = more inertia = slower "twitch" response time. I’ve got an MX310 right now and I’m quite satisfied with it. I still wish they came out with a version that used the mx510 sensor though :(

me too, except believe it or not during competition I can actually confuse the sensor at times and itll spin around randomly, that's why I think I'll start saving the $100 or so needed for a mx1000

That was probably because of a repeated pattern on your mousepad rather than the mouse.

Anyway, I like my MX500 just fine. :p Especially after I removed the weight from it.

I just bought my MX510 about a week ago, but I don't have any regrets right now. I don't like cordless mice. :-\

As someone else said cordless mice are heavier, and as a gamer I can say cordless mice are much better for me.
I hear there's a weight in the MX700 to make it heavier too. I don't know, I like the weight now that I'm used to it. I can just toss a light mouse around and I don't feel its as precise anymore.

Have you actually opened one up before? There is no such weight that I can see. The batteries probably contribute a decent amount to the weight, however.

Yeah theres no weight....I opened mine up. My stupid charger doesnt wanna work sometimes though, its so flockin anoying :(

hope it's lighter than my mx700 that i've got right now. i love the 700 but with two rechargable AA batteries in it, it's freakin' heavy. i was thinking of making the switch to the corded 510, but now i think i'll wait for the specs on this new one...

You'll have to tell us what you think. Personally I don't like that they changed the thumb buttons to that single application switcher (I still alt+tab anyway). And gaming accuracy, too ;)

I'll do a review comparing it to my MX700. I'm sure someone will buy it if I don't like it.

the mx 500 had the weight not the 700 as it seems some have confused it here.

And i would like to know how the mx1000 recharges and if the battery can be removed easily and replacements are easily available. Since I would not be a happy person to use the mouse for a year to have the battery stop working and have it sealed in the mouse and be custom for the mouse.

This was a major issue with a version of ipod the battery would last about 18 months and then you were sol as it is "non user serviceable" so you were stuck to send it in and pay for them to fix it then there was a kit released by 3rd party to open the ipod and replace the battery.
