I got one of the eVGA 7900GT Superclocked cards last week and used it for a while, and saw massive instability running most 3D apps (3dmark, Doom 3, etc.). Strangely, Half-Life 2 and Oblivion worked fine though. Another problem I had was, if I let the machine idle overnight, it would always be hard-locked when I came back to it in the morning.

Now I'm using an nVidia reference 7900 GT, and it's worked fine so far in all games, but the machine is still hanging when I let it idle for long periods. Any thoughts on why this would be happening? Maybe there's a PCI-E setting in the BIOS I could tweak to make things more stable? Here's my setup:

A64 3700+ San Diego (2.75 ghz)
2gb Corsair XMS @ 250 mhz
DFI NF4 SLI-DR Expert

Have checked for a new motherboard BIOS but DFI hasn't updated since December. Other ideas?
