Hi all, this is my first post but I've been lurking here for a while and garnering a LOT of good infomation. Anyways. I've got a AMD64 3000 on an Abit KV8 Pro, 1gig of ValueSelect Corsair ram (whoops), and a BFG 6800GT OC.

When clocking it to 240x10 with the Memory at 166 (to make it 200 at the 240fsb) and the HTT bus at 4x, the system will run stable most voltages at .5 over stock, except the processor, which is at 1.775 (watercooled, it will reboot at any lower voltage). I can play Doom3 and CS:S for extended periods of time (1hour+) and run 3dmark03 and 05 just fine. I fired up UT2k4 and after about 10 minutes the system freezes and the sounds get caught in a loop. It doesn't reboot, just freezes, makes me think it's the Vid card. Any insight? This is my first time really going with an OC since the heydays of the 300A. Memory is set at default clocking. 2.5, 3, 3, 8. Also is what are some other programs to put the memory and CPU through it's paces to rule out other components?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

if the cpu JUST works at 1.775 you might want to try a little higher. with watercooling you'll be safe for sure.

run prime95 for a few hours, see if that crashes. if so then its not the video card.

dropped the HTT to 3x and upped the CPU to 1.8vcore, still no luck and I can duplicate the hang in HL2. I'll try running prime95 tonight and see if it's CPU or GPU related.
