i heard you could buy a 2500+ and OC it to a 3200+ .....but didn't AMD lock the 2500+ so you can't do that anymore?

you raise the FSB

166x11 = 1830 mhz

200x11 = 2200 mhz

you CAN raise the multiplier with some slight modifications.

if you want to buy a cheap chip for OCing you want a 2500+ or higher mobile. i used to like the 2400+'s but ive had terrible luck with em.

You'll more than likely need to get different ram also, if you're still using the ram in your sig. Get some good quality PC3200 and the 2500 Barton will run forever at 3200 speeds.......... :cool:

if i were you i'd even go mobile 2600+ and get some better ram. maybe some pc3500 or 4000 if you can afford it. you've got the cooling covered, all you need is the chip and the board.
