Load Media Boot Issue After Overclocking

Hello everyone,

I just built my system and everything was working as intended until last night when I decided to try and use the "Load Gamer Overclock" setting in my Asus Maximus V Formula Bios and it boosted me up to 4.6ghz with 1.345v and it booted fine at first, but when I tried to restart it, it came with a message to "insert media or select boot device and hit any key".

after that i restarted and entered the bios only to find out my boot drive was no longer detected as the 2nd boot device, however, it was still on the list of boot priorities. anyhow i just ended up pressing my clear cmos button and everything is back to normal.

should i avoid using that Load Gamer Overclock? or could it have been that I had my Corsair Wireless USB adapter connected to the PC when I restarted?

I guess I didn't describe this appropriately and I apologize for that. Since the other night I went ahead and reduced the OC' to 4.4ghz@1.328vcore and its running fine low 65+ low 70's temps which I find acceptable with my H100.

The media boot issue hasn't returned but I can't think that the original 4.6ghz OC' was the root cause of the issue. When I get my C70 side panels back I'll add an additional set of fans and see if I can't get better temps.

I am going to try and reduce the vcore to about 1.325 however tonite. Also, I'm don't think Prime95 is a good way to test my system considering I only game with it and the temps I've reached with BF3 and GW2 and CS:GO are sub 70's. No BSODS yet and I don't anticipate any.
