Hello,
I have attempted to overclock an opteron Which I have gotten recentley, and I must say, it clocks quite nicley.
The o/c
Processor: Opteron 170
Cooling: (sub-stock) single pair heat pipe heatsink
Voltage 1.5v
HTT@ 3x
priming at the moment for 2 hours.

With a heatsink better than the crippled stock, does anyone thing there is a possibility of it ranking a bit higher clockwise? 3ghz is a pipedream, non?

I have the Opty 148 and I'm using Stock HSF.... I'd be willing to bet with better cooling I could hit 3.0 ghz - I don't see it being impossible but you will need to upgrade your cooling.

I'm at 2.9 Ghz now and where the computer is its always in a cool to cold room so I run at around 41 - 43 C Full Load Prime 95 Temp.

grab yourself a scythe ninja with 120mm silent fan, temps should be alot better than stock HSF. :D

Can't really complain about my Stock HSF - It keeps it at 42 - 43 C Full Load and at 2.9 Ghz which is 700 mhz overclocked I can't complain at all.
