Sorry if I missed a previous post on this, but I couldn't find one.

I have an x1900xt, and sometimes when I play games, a series of green pixels appear on my screen. It happens sometimes, but other times I can play forever without seeing them. When it does happen, they will stay on for every game I play and some webpages/ pictures will have them.

I just now played the UT3 demo, and I got them all in a vertical line on one end of the monitor. I have been scanning for artifacts for about 10 minutes in ATI tool, but nothing appears. I am puzzled. Is this a problem with the monitor?

Oh yea, the pixels only appear when I am in dark areas when gaming.

Take a screen shot of the problem, and see if it appears in the screen shot, or is all is well there....

Yea, i think it's my video card getting too hot. I ordered an after-market cooler from the egg.

the one time I've seen this on my x1800xt, it was a few green dots on the tab that says "videos" on youtube while I was watching a video there. They stayed put in their placement on the page regardless of scrolling or whatever (i.e., always on that tab). then it continued for games.

*shrug*

Yea, exactly. They stay put where they show. I took a screen shot when they came out, and they didn't show up on it. What does this mean? Vid card?

They disappear when I turn my monitor off and on.

could be stuck pixels on an lcd? dead pixel tester cycles many colors through the screen to let you know if you have any pixels being lame... also try ati tool and run the artifact test to see if they show up here ? Also look at the temps for the card, above 90c might be dangerous

I will try dead pixel tester when I get home. The card doesn't go above 75C and ATI Tool doesn't give any dead pixels.

I think it is the monitor :(

They disappear when I turn it off and on again. Should I be worried? I don't think I can take it back to the store.
