Im running a digital cable out of my flexijack that has coaxail witch is plugged into my xr-55. when i turn on my pc i get no sound on anything until i change the sound mode then the sound kicks in and its very anoying to do. how do i fix it?

Which X-Fi? The Gamer? I've got the Prelude, but I think they have similar connections. I'd just run it on analog and get some RCA-to-mini cables, but I understand the practicality of using 1 cable. Other than that, I'm not sure. I've messed with coaxial and toslink connections only minimally and was never pleased with the sound.

A diference that is positive or negative?
I like the sound from analog and bypassing the receiver's DAC. Haven't tried digital out on the Prelude however, just the Gamer. When I tried the digital out on the Gamer, I was getting a delayed playing and stuttering, though that may be user error.
