Litterbox PSU

I never really looked into PSU's that much over the years for my gaming boxes, I always just chose a decent brand with decent wattage at the time.

For this build tho I decied to ditch the fileserver and gamebox in favor of a all in one machine which I fondly call "The Litterbox" i'm a little worried about power requirements due to how many hard drives will be in the system. It will contain the following.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
Processor: AMD Phenom II X3 720
OS drive: OCZ OCZSSD2-1S32G 32GB Sata II SSD
Program Files drives : 2x 36GB WD Raptor
Data drives: 6x WD Caviar Green 750GB drives | 9x WD Caviar Green 1TB
Video Card: Asus Radeon 4870 512 MB

My case does have the option of allowing to accomodate dual PSU's, but if possible I would like to stay with one to keep the cooling setup I have *adding 2nd psu will make me lose the 120mm fan in the back. If possible I'd like to get away from the supplamental 5.25 PSU im using as well right now.

Currently I have a Hiper Type-R 580 along with a Ultra 5.25 bay 300 watt pushing
DFI DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
6x WD Caviar Green 750GB
2x 36GB WD Raptor
Asus Radeon 4870 512MB

This has been running like a champ for about 2 years now.

Considering these new phenoms are post to be even more power friendly than the old Athlon64s I assume power requirements for the core system are even lower now therefore giving me more head room for the hard drives.

So I think I might be able to pull this off with a 800watt PSU?
I would like to stay below $300 if possible. I usually like to stay in my fanboy brand range as I have always had good service with them.
Enermax, OCZ but I can branch out a little long as they have a good name/reviews out there.

With 15X HDD's we want a Single-Rail PSU.

Considering that you have a relatively high power video card + those drives, I recommend the Corsair 850TX to stay on the safe side and to stay close the optimal efficiency, quiet and longevity range.
