Ive got 7 80mm fans on my rig right now spinning at full speed. I am thinking of adding a fan control unit but my fans are all lit. What effect if any will the fan control have on the lights. I seem to recall from electronic class days....geez that was 15 years ago but I digress.....that an LED is either on or off and that it will not glow at less than a certain voltage.

wire the fans in series and see if the lights dim or go out.

i have a vantec nexus with 4 cooler master 80mm led fans, and the led's dim, not just go out. also if u want control of the fan speed, u have to dim the led's out completely b4 u can start to adjust the fan speed.

My coolermaster musketeer dims the LEDs, but cause of the voltage limitations on the musketeer (Only goes to 11 volts), 1 LED won't light. Heh, beats me :p

i have rifle bearing red led coolermasters, and there's not a huge difference at the 7v setting vs the 12v setting, theyr'e a bit brighter, but not hugely so

I have thought about seperating the supply to the LEDs to keep them at full glow and then control the fans seperatley. Anyone tried that?
