Liquid Submersion system from HARCORE COMPUTER.

Wow, that looks awesome. I wonder how loud the thing is. If it dead sexy silent I may get one.

I'm looking for a power house computer, totally silent (or close to it), and flat awesome looking!

Those are ridiculous prices for amusing below average specs. You'd be better off investing a bit of time and money mastering water cooling to achieve approximately the same effect as far as CPU and GPU temps go. This is essentially the box that is never meant to be opened or serviced by the end user. Good luck accessing the ports on any kind of PCI-E card addition whatsoever.

Cool concept and certainly well designed. However for 6 Grand 4gb of ram and only Vista home is pretty pathetic. That should of been no less then 8GB of ram and vista ultimate.

Cost is an important factor, but the price includes manufacturing costs and everything else that goes with running a very boutique retail shop.

they reviewed this on maximum pc.

gave it a 6/10 because it was unstable and didnt cool any better then water. they also said it was really loud for being submerged. they had some other stuff go wrong like sata ports snapping off.

wasnt very promising but still you gotta like it when people try do something different. if they can lower costs and offer i7 it would have a good chance of stealing some of the high end pc market.

I really don't see submersion cooling as ever being practical.

I mean, what happens when you need to upgrade your ram\video card? Hell, even put in a CD drive or something.

Gotta drain the whole thing, re-fill it...sounds like a messy PITA!

There was a video around a while back with the guy who made these.

A lot of custom work went into designing it, I was really surprised. They had their own motherboards made just for this machine, along with all the special connectors and break out boards and stuff, it's pretty interesting.

The specs aren't great and they are really expensive, but it's neat that they were able to actually produce and sell a project like that. I doubt they'll ever break even on the development costs, but it's pretty cool and unique regardless.

If you look at the design pics its got some handles where it looks like you can life the whole thing out.

I looked it over thoroughly and checked out various reviews. I especially like having to lift it out a few inches at a time as you disconnect cables, thoroughly oiling yourself up as you handle a very expensive piece of technology. I'm also a big fan of having to wait for everything to dry, then having to assume the oil layer between any connector/cable and its intended socket isn't going to cause any problems.
