I just downloaded suse 10.2 I now have no idea what to do. everything i read is too confusing. I am trying to install it using a boot disk to an emty hard-drive.
 
Well, what have you actually done so far besides downloading it?

Suse 10.2 should come as an ISO, so you just burn the ISO image to disc (Nero burn image, or CD BurnerXP Pro or some other disc burning app) and boot off the CD/DVD. Then from there, you just follow the directions the installer gives you.
 
I would do that but it is like 3 gigs, an it is an iso file. I would have to burn it to multiple cds. I dont know what to burn to what cd. I would do DVD but the other computer doesnt have a dvd drive.
 
Sounds like you got the DVD iso, which would require you to burn it to DVD. Hate to break it to you there.

If you can't get a DVD drive into the other comp, then one choice if you want to use SuSE 9.2 (not 10.2 right?) is to use the mini-install and do an FTP install once you boot the comp with the disc.

And read these instructions from SUSE before proceeding. Any problems, just post back with questions and others and I will try to help.
