I have a few networking issues with my Linux VMs that I can't seem to resolve. Issue number one is a strange occurrence where my Linux distro (Simply MEPIS) reassigns a random IP address to the virtual network adapter causing the VM to lose all connectivity. I tried manually assigning an IP address but that has no effect. This also happened recently when I cloned a VM and it couldn't connect yet all my previous clones worked. There's at least one SMP WU awaiting an upload and I wish to get this fixed.
The second issue is the perennial problem of monitoring VM clients. My experience has been a crap shoot at best, The only success I ever had monitoring my VMs with FahSpy was using Simply MEPIS, which is the chief reason I am running this slow and bloated distro. Unfortunately, not all of my MEPIS VMs can be monitored for some unknown reason. I only have 50% of these VMs monitored. The need to monitor is paramount with the frequent SMP hangs I experience using the A2 core (several each day).
Any help to get either problem resolved will be greatly appreciated. TIA
